Chimney sweep, inspection and repair in Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills is mostly houses from the late 1940s through the 1960s: ranches and colonials on bigger lots than the cities around it, under a lot of mature trees.

Trees and chimneys

The trees are a big part of why people live in Beverly Hills. They're also hard on chimneys. Branches over the roof drop leaves and twigs onto the chimney top, keep the crown damp in the shade, and give squirrels and raccoons an easy way onto the roof.

If you hear scratching or chirping from the fireplace in the spring, call us before you light a fire.

A chimney cap keeps rain and animals out of the flue. If yours is missing, rusted or the wrong size, we'll measure the chimney and quote one that fits, including custom sizes for chimneys where a standard cap doesn't.

Mid-century chimneys

Many houses from this period have one brick chimney carrying two flues: one for the fireplace and one for the furnace or water heater. We look at both, and at how the flues finish at the top of the chimney.

Ranch houses have low roofs, so the chimney doesn't stand far above the shingles. That makes the crown and the flashing easy to overlook, and it's where a lot of water gets in.
